Congratulations to young Owenie McMenamin from Q-Sports Academy Fintona who became the youngest ever winner of a Irish ranking tournament event organised by Irish Pool Association when the 9-yearold was crowned Irish U-15 Open Pool Champion.

Ownie who is a brilliant young player was in fantastic form throughout the tournament competing against much older players in the round robin group format and knockout stages overcoming the challenge from the following players on route to victory Karol Galka (Q-Sports Academy, Tyrone), Cian Byrne, Shane O'Brien (Q-Sports Academy, Tyrone), Tiernan McSorley (Q-Sports Academy, Tyrone), Shane Prior (Cavan), Arron Doherty (Cork), Piotr Samulewicz (Q-Sports Academy, Tyrone), Daniel McLoughlin (Leitrim), before coming back from 3-0 down in the final to be crowned champion defeating another good young U-15 player Daniel Feenan (Mayo) 4-3.

Daniel Feenan (Mayo) also a brilliant young player and its only a matter of time before this lad wins one of these U-15 ranking tournaments with the young Mayo cueist also defeating some very good young players on route to reaching the final.

Owenie who attends Q-Sports Academy in Fintona Co.Tyrone showed great nerve and skill to come back from 3-0 down to be crowned champion played at the Bridge House Hotel Tullamore Co.Offaly on Sunday past (25th January).
