Blackball Irish 8Ball Pool Tour

Southern Ireland Pool Federation have announced dates for their new Blackball 8Ball Pool Tour with estimated 8,000 euros in prize-money up for grabs in five ranking tournaments with event one already played.....


All events will take place at the beautiful Louis Fitzgerald Hotel, Newlands's Cross, Naas Road, Dublin 22, Rep of Ireland with 30 euros for a yearly membership and 25 euros entry fee for each event.......



DATES:
Event 1: March 14th & 15th 2009

Event 2: June 13th & 14th 2009

Event 3: September 5th & 6th 2009

Event 4: October 24th & 25th 2009

Event 5: November 21st & 22nd 2009



RULES:
Blackball rules are used in each of the events in the Irish Tour 2009. Players are advised to familiarise themselves with these rules before they enter the events.......



FORMAT:
All matches are best of 11 (first to 6) in the first round up until the ¼-finals, with the ¼-finals and semi-finals being the best of 13 (first to 7) and the final the best of 15 (first to 8).......



DRESS - CODE:
Neat dress essential, polo-shirt or dress shirt with trousers (slacks) and black shoes...... no jeans or sports wear allowed......



REGISTRATION FEE:
For the men’s main event, a once off yearly registration fee of €30 is required.....


This fee must be paid at the players first event. Each event from then on (including the current event) requires a €25 entry fee.......


If a player wishes to only play in one or two events, he / she may pay an event registration fee of €10, but would be required to pay that at each event he / she enters.......


The entrance fee for the extra events (i.e. Ladies, Over 40's, Under 23s and Juniors) is €10.......




EVENT DRAWS:
There are no scheduled walk over (i.e. BYE's) in round 1. 'Ano' indicates that a player may be inserted by a late entry......


All players to register 1 hour before scheduled match time. All second and subsequent rounds may be brought forward due to facilitate the smooth running of the event......


Extra competitions (i.e. Ladies, Senior (over 40's), Under 23's and Under 16's) start Sunday morning......


The ladies and the seniors will start at 10am on the Sunday morning and the juniors and the under 23s will start at 11.30 Sunday morning. All these extra competitions are limited to the first 16 entries and only apply to players not left in main tour event........


Entry fees for these competitions are at €10 each......


Ladies and Juniors (i.e. under 18s) will receive a one frame start against a full tour member in the main tour event.......


LATE:-----Players failing to turn up to their match on time, will be docked one frame every 10 minutes until their opponent has reached their require number of frames to win the match.......


SLOW PLAY: ------After 60 minutes, following the conclusion of the frame that is currently in play, if neither player have amassed 3 frames, the match will be reduced by two frames (i.e. from best of 11 to best of 9).......


Any player taking more than 1 minute per shot is liable to receive firstly, a warning from the referee or tournament official, secondly, a foul being awarded to your opponent, thirdly, with the ultimate penalty being loss of that frame......


These 3 steps can only happen per match.......
