2015 Snooker Challenge Cup


Q-Sports Academy Sports Club Fintona are taking names (limited to 16 players) for the club's annual "OPEN SNOOKER TOURNAMENT" played on 10ft Snooker Table (15 reds) with all players travelling one or two nights and returning for Grand-Finals when Semi-Finals & Final will be played to a finish.........................NOTE details are listed below or contact 07563083572 for further information.



CHAMPION 2014:
Brendan McDonagh (Dromore, Tyrone) was crowned champion last year when he defeated another Tyrone player Paul Loughran (Omagh) in the final on a 5-2 score-line when the grand-finals was played last July.



ENTRY FEE:
This year we're raising the entry fee to 30 (25 last year) with the winner collecting 300 first prize, runner-up 100 and 50 to beaten semi-finals based on 16 entries.

VENUE: Q-Sports Academy Main Street, Fintona, Co.Tyrone

CLOSING DATE: When 16 entries are received

DATES: Matches will be arranged for Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday nights.

FORMAT: Straight knockout best of 9 ---- (semi-finals & final played on one day)

ENTRY FEE: 30 or 40 ------ entry fee paid up front

"GRAND-FINALS" ------ Q-Sports Academy Snooker Challenge Cup


Q-Sports Academy Club Fintona held the GRAND-FINALS of two club cue-sport competitions last night Friday 11th July when 625 total prize-money was up for grabs for Q-Sports Academy Open 9-Ball League and Q-Sports Academy Snooker Challenge Cup......... www.rballsprts.com



SNOOKER: ----- 400 Prize-Money
Q-Sports Academy Snooker Challenge Cup was a open competition limited to 16 players with the event attracting local players from the club plus players from different towns throughout Tyrone and border counties of Donegal & Monaghan all trying to collect the 250 first prize........ www.rballsports.com



The competition produced avery high standard of play round by round but it was Dromore cueist Brendan McDonagh who was crowned champion defeating Paul Loughran (Omagh) in the final on a 5-2 score-line........ www.rballsports.com



On route to victory Brendan put in some solid performances throughout the tournament defeating Conrad McCann, Mickey McDonald, Dwayne Timlin before overcoming the challenge of the inform Paul Loughran in the final to add another tournament title to his impressive CV....... www.rballsports.com



HIGH-BREAKS:
Paul Loughran claimed the highest break of the tournament which was a brilliant 73 adding to his other superb breaks of 53, 64 and a host of 30 plus breaks throughout the tournament.


Dwayne Timlin also recorded a fantastic 66 break in his semi-final match against Brendan McDonagh with the Dromore cueist also recording the following breaks of 29, 37, 43, 44 and 48 on Grand-Finals night.

The draw (listed below) was made for the Q-Sports Academy Snooker Challenge Cup by Damian Corrigan and Ronnie Boyle when 16 players will do battle on the Green Baize in the Fintona club played on the 10ft snooker table (15 reds)with the outright winner receiving 250, runner-up 100, semi-finals 25 each (based on 16 players).



Some good players has entered this event with the organisers forecasting that high breaks will be recorded throughout the tournament with all matches being best of 7 (first to 4) with two matches taking place each night followed by the two winners.........NOTE: players please make sure and fulfil your fixtures as your only letting your fellow players down and reducing the prize-money which is based on 16 players.
